joe pilates' basic five:
1. hundred
2. roll up
3. single leg circles (tree!)
4. rolling like a ball
5. spine stretch
one of my early pilates revelations came from hearing that a letter had been found in which joe asked "given that the guys at the UN can't do my first five exercises, how we can we expect world peace?" ... nice.
one of my big goals is to get more policymakers doing pilates-- more flexible bodies, more flexible minds!
this commitment has revealed new truths about the difference pilates can make ... people who have been rolling like a ball together know each other differently in discussions later in the day... good at the office or offsite meetings and conferences.
